Kids Martial Arts Classes
Empowered Martial Arts applies a curriculum that uses traditional martial arts techniques to teach self-defense and leadership skills to children. This unique Bully/Stranger Awareness & Avoidance Program teaches children to detect potential threats to their safety and then to safely and actively avoid situations, people and locations that might be harmful to their well-being.
The Leadership Program emphasizes values such as respect, honesty, focus, self-control, perseverance, and confidence. These values empower children to have a healthy self-image, respect for themselves and others, and to truly succeed as a champion in life!
Many people ask if we teach traditional martial arts such as Karate or Tae Kwon Do. We do incorporate techniques from these traditional arts, but we feel that the sport of martial arts is not for every child.
On the other hand, all children can benefit from basic self-defense. Our children need to be able to recognize a bully, know what to do if they encounter a bully or if they see someone else being bullied, and how NOT to become a bully! Kids need to know what to do if they are in danger and what to do to attract the attention of others that can provide immediate help.
In addition, it is critical for children to also know how to show respect to themselves and others. Knowing how to use self-control, they are able to achieve many things. The lessons learned from Martial Arts can be applied to everyday life. Every child needs to know that focus is important when it comes to breaking a board or solving a math problem.
Through these programs, children are taught how to speak effectively in front of others and to recognize the importance of honesty, even in difficult decisions or in the face of punishment.

FAQ
When will my child receive the uniform?
He or she will receive the uniform on the first day of class once the registration fee and first month’s tuition is paid.
Is my child required to wear the uniform?
Most kids enjoy wearing their uniform to class but are not required to wear them. They will be required to wear them for our graduations held 3 times a year.
How long does the program last?
Our programs are year round.
How long is each class and how many days a week will my child attend?
Classes are 45 min long, once a week.
What type of lessons will my child be taught?
Our Pre- K classes have themed classes the children are taught life skills, light self defense, bully awareness and stranger danger in a fun environment.
Our after school kids are taught Bully Awareness, the basics of karate, punches, kicks and self defense, all moves are done in the air not on each other.
